Red Nation Celebration
9428 Reseda Blvd.

ATTN: Joanelle Romero People See This Woman

Dear Joanelle,

First of all, I would like to express how much my TV crew and I had at the first annual Red Nation Celebration, Pau’ Wau.  I personally found the event to be well-organized, rich and a rewarding cultural experience. Thank you for allowing BNV News to cover the event in detail.

I especially enjoyed the camaraderie among all who attended. There was a special kind of peace that thrived through out the park that day. It was a pleasant sight to see all the nations of Native Americans express there love and respect for each other. I hope one day we can live in a world where all the nations would experience what took place at the Red Nation Celebration.

During the preview of the edited version of Red Nation Celebration Pau’ Wau DVD, members of the production had tears rolling down their face. The sound of the drum, the cultural prayer dances, and the love the people have for their cultural and the earth was a very emotional scene.

I hope you and your staff will enjoy the 20:00 presentation as much as we have making it. Feel free to contact me if you have any future programs and events. We would love to attend.

Again, Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your event.

American Indians have every right to despise white folks and curse us, rather than bless us. And yet, there are leaders like Romero who boggle the typical pedestrian mind. Thank goodness there are other people like Nelson Mandela, a prime example of forgiveness in action. He had every right to call for a blood bath when he was finally released from prison in South Africa. Romero stands on mighty global shoulders. Mandela-like, she too calls for “oneness,” love and what she describes as “female energy.”

Romero’s response to this interview ….

I’m sure people thought that by giving us our long over due “heritage month” that that would provoke anger perhaps violence but instead it produced hope and pride back to our native indigenous communities. That in turn launched the largest movement to date of cultural understanding, accountability, it instilled native pride and promoted that Indian country is strong today, this kind of energy and hope hasn’t happened in our native communities since the days of Wavoka and the Ghost Dance, said Joanelle Romero.

it is great that you are doing this for our people. hopefully this will help us awaken our spirits and unite us with a stronger bond. may this help our people bring understanding to the world. may this awaken the spirits of all arrogant men to be humble and may their hatred be vanished with their spirit found. we are ALL of one blood; we are ALL of one body; we are ALL brothers....

WITH THE RED NATION CELEBRATION, WE COME ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE MENDING OF THE SACRED HOOP.

I heard you speak at Puvunga on Sat. Oct. 7th 2006. You are doing great work for all of the people. Thank you. You had mentioned acting classes for Native American children. I would like to know more about this.

My daughter is taking some drama classes at her school. She sounded interested when you talked about the classes. Could you please email some us more information. Thank you very much and we pray all will go well for Native American Month.

Hi Joanelle,

Just watched the whole "Home, Home on the Rez" pilot without sound (I think it's the computer)....what a trip to see little Sage and my old friend Geraldine Harvey....thought I'd let you know that she died this past June, one week short of her 90th birthday. The site looks GREAT....."hey" to Rain and Sage...
